Along with a friend and a colleague, Sharon Mark-Teggart, founder of evoco, I have exploring over the past few months some ideas for creating an online community for piano teachers. This will provide teaching resources, encourage and stimulate professional development and debate and act as a research base for us to explore new teaching ideas together.
I am delighted to say that all our ideas are about to come to fruition! We launched The Curious Piano Teachers (have you spotted the subtle difference?) at the Music Education Expo 2015 and we will soon be opening our doors for the first intake of teachers who would like to join The Community.
It is quite sad to say that this is the last blog on this current website but I do know that what we are working on will far exceed what I can offer on this blog and will help me to share my ideas more fully with everyone. This blog will remain in its current state with all the material on it until I move it over in the future.
What I find particularly exciting is this idea of us working together as a community to develop our teaching and share our love of music with our students, whether they are young or old.
The voyage for The Curious Piano Teachers is just beginning and I do hope that you will come and join me for the adventure! If you haven't yet found your way to the new website and left your email address so that you continue to be informed just click the button below.
