I love my work! I love playing the piano and I love teaching it as every time I teach I get new insights in how to play. Furthermore I have a similar passion for helping children to discover their own musical awareness. Watching how children learn is truly fascinating and I always feel very privileged to be part of their journey.
With that joy however comes responsibility and throughout my career as a piano teacher I have always been keen to develop my own skills and knowledge of teaching. When I look back at my early piano teaching I know I had so much to learn (more of that in another post maybe). However, through a process of continually asking questions and being curious about why something happened I began to develop my teaching skills, a process that still continues.
Having worked with many piano teachers over the last 10 years the time has come for me to share some of my thoughts about piano teaching, music education and music with anyone who is interested.
I hope you will come with me on this new adventure and together we can continue to ask questions, be curious and make some new discoveries! An open heart and mind is all that is needed. Let the adventure begin....
