Now, with less than a week to go until the Music Education Expo 2014 it's time to start planning the workshop I am giving at the Expo next Friday at 3.30pm.
In 'Let's Play! Songs and Games for Instrumental Teachers' I will be introducing some of my favourite songs and activities that can be used in individual and group instrumental lessons to teach musical skills and concepts. It should be fun and it would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible but places for the workshop are limited to 100 so do get there early! As a little taster check out Rain is falling down in the resources section of my blog.
Here are some of the other events during the Music Education Expo that might also be of interest:
The Piano Teachers' Course is holding TeachMeet session on Saturday February 8 at 12.45 where we will be discussing whether currently available teaching materials are fit for purpose in the 21st century.
The Voices Foundation are also hosting a TeachMeet at 10.30am on Friday February 7 - under discussion will be the new music National Curriculum.
If you want to find out more about The Voices Foundation and the training and work that we do in primary schools throughout England then come along to the presentation we will be giving on Saturday at 10.30.
Last year's Music Education Expo was an energetic and positive event and the signs are that this year will be even better - I look forward to seeing you there!
